A Clinical Study on Gestational Trophoblastic Disease

Abstract
This report was performed to evaluate the gestational trophoblastic disease who were treated at Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital from Jan. 1, 1986 to Dec. 31, 1994.
A retrospective review of hospital chart, we were studied 63 cases with gestational trophoblastic disease by the clinical characteristics and the outcome of management.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. Incidence of the gestational trophblastic disease compared with deliery was one per 209 deliveries.
2. The most frequent age & parity was 20 to 29 years old (66.7%) & 0 to 1 times(73%).
3. The clinical mamifestations were vaginal bleeding(79.4%), excessive uterine enlargement(30.2%), hyperemesis(28.6%), abdominal pain(27.0%) and etc.
4. The antecedent pregnancy preceding the diagnosis of a malignant gestational trophoblastic disease were abortion(37.5%), term pregnancy(25.0%), no pregnancy(37.%).
5. We divided the patient by the Hammond classification system : nonmetastasis(53 cases), metastasis(10 cases).
6. We divided the patient by the Bagshawe WHO prognostic scording system : low risk(21 cases), middle risk(27 cases) high risk(15 cases).
7. We divided the patient by the FIGO staging system : stage I(50 cases), stage II(2 cases), stage III(10 cases), stage IV( 1 cases).
8. The treatment regimens were consisted of D & E only(27%), D & E with chemotherapy(55.6%), and total abdominal hysterectomy with chemotherapy(14.3%),
9. The side effects after chemotherapy were hepatotoxicity(39.1%), gastrointestinal problem(37%), leukopenia(15.2%) and etc.
